Costumes

For our music video, we have decided to create a 1940's style. By this we will dress our characters in 1940's style clothing. This type of clothing includes polka dot tea dresses, high waisted trousers, old fashioned shoes for the females. For our main male character, we would dress him in a basic white shirt, with smart trousers and possibly with suspenders.

We were inspired by the film 'The Notebook' and we will dress our characters like they do in the film. The flashbacks will be in the 1940's theme, however the present day clips we will be as normal.
From this, the audience will be able to tell easily that the scenes are as flashbacks.

The characters hair will be styled in the same sort of way as they wore in the 1940s. This is mostly curls, pins and backcombed. We will style our main man character by creating a side parting and a small flick.

As well as the outfits we want to create the make up in the same style as the 1940s. For the girl character this would include her wearing bright red lipstick and winged eyeliner. The eyes will have natural/ neutral colours with a contour in the crease of the eyelid.

* Unfortunately, after researching into the 1940s costume and set design we'd need, we've decided to not use this idea. Even though it would be effective, we do not have the time/money/resources to use it, and our feedback agreed. *
